Ingredients:
• Beef: Sliced, about 300g
• Black Pepper: To taste
• Salt: To taste
• Oil: A little for cooking
• King Oyster Mushrooms: 200g, sliced
• Garlic: 2-3 cloves, sliced
• Onion: 1 medium, sliced
• Green and Red Peppers: 1 each, sliced
• Oyster Sauce: 2 tablespoons
• Soy Sauce: 1 tablespoon
• Water: 50ml
• Cornstarch: 1 tablespoon for thickening
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Beef: In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with black pepper, salt, and a little oil. Set aside.
2. Cook the Mushrooms: Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little oil. Sauté the king oyster mushrooms until they are golden brown on the outside.
3. Stir-Fry the Beef: In the same hot pan, add more oil if needed and cook the beef until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.
4. Sauté Aromatics: In the same pan, add sliced garlic and onion. Stir-fry until fragrant, then add black pepper to taste.
5. Combine Ingredients: Add the sautéed mushrooms back to the pan along with the cooked beef. Pour in the oyster sauce, green and red peppers, and mix well.
6. Add Seasonings: Stir in soy sauce, water, and cornstarch. Mix until the sauce thickens.
7. Serve: Once everything is well combined and heated through, serve hot. Enjoy your delicious stir-fry!
Tips:
• Choose Quality Beef: Select tender cuts of beef like sirloin or flank steak for the best texture and flavor. Slice against the grain for tenderness.
• Marinate for Flavor: Allow the beef to marinate with black pepper, salt, and oil for at least 15 minutes to enhance the flavor.
• Heat is Key: Ensure the pan is hot before adding the beef to achieve a good sear. This helps to lock in juices and flavor.
• Don’t Overcrowd the Pan: Cook the beef in batches if necessary. Overcrowding can cause steaming instead of frying, leading to a less desirable texture.
• Adjust Spice Levels: Modify the amount of black pepper and chili to suit your taste preferences. You can always add more later!
• Serve Immediately: Stir-fried dishes are best enjoyed fresh, so serve hot for the best flavor and texture!
