Instructions

1. Prepare Hot Pot Base: Start by preparing a small piece of hot pot base as shown in the recipe.

2. Sauté Aromatics: Heat oil in a pan. Slowly melt the hot pot base over low heat. Add onion, ginger, and garlic, stirring until fragrant. Then, mix in 2 spoons of soy sauce, 1/4 spoon of five-spice powder, 1 spoon of oyster sauce, and sugar (ratio of salt to sugar should be about 3:1).

3. Combine Milk and Water: Add the prepared milk and water in a 1:1 ratio. Adjust milk quantity for a stronger or lighter flavor. Bring to a boil over medium heat, being cautious of overflowing.
