Steamed Pork with Bean Sprouts and Carrot
This steamed pork with bean sprouts and carrots is a light, flavorful dish made with tender marinated pork layered over crisp veggies. Healthy, easy to make, and ready in just 30 minutes!

A savory and healthy steamed dish featuring tender marinated pork layered over crisp vegetables. Light on oil, big on flavor—perfect for a family-style dinner.
Ingredients:
- Pork – 200g (about 7 oz), thinly sliced
- Bean sprouts – 1 cup, rinsed
- Carrot – 1 small, peeled and julienned
- Cornstarch – 1 tsp
- Soy sauce – 1 tbsp
- Cooking oil (neutral or baby-safe) – 1 tbsp
- Ginger slices – 2 to 3 pieces
- Green onion segments – 2 to 3 pieces
Instructions:
Marinate the Pork
Slice pork thinly and place it in a bowl. Add cornstarch, soy sauce, and cooking oil, then mix well by hand until evenly coated.
Add ginger slices and green onion segments, and let it marinate for 15 minutes.Tip: Thinner slices cook faster and stay tender.
- Prepare the Vegetables
Rinse the bean sprouts thoroughly.
Peel and julienne the carrot into fine strips. - Assemble for Steaming
In a heatproof bowl or plate, layer the bean sprouts on the bottom, followed by a layer of carrot strips.
Spread the marinated pork slices evenly on top.
- Steam the Dish
Place the dish in a steamer over cold water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to medium heat and steam for 15 minutes, or until the pork is fully cooked. - Finish & Serve
After steaming, carefully drain any excess liquid.
Drizzle a small amount of hot oil over the top for added aroma and richness.
