Soft Mung Bean Paste Bites
These soft mung bean paste bites are made with steamed hulled mung beans, milk, and a touch of oil, then shaped into cute molds. They’re smooth, mildly sweet, and perfect as a healthy snack or dessert.

Ingredients:
- 200g hulled mung beans
- 25g milk powder
- 100ml milk or formula milk
- 25g corn oil
Instructions:
- Soak the mung beans overnight.
This helps them cook faster and more evenly when steamed the next day.
- Rinse the soaked mung beans thoroughly.
Place them in a steamer and steam for about 40 minutes. They're ready when they can be easily crushed between your fingers.
- Blend the steamed mung beans.
Transfer them into a blender, add the milk, and process until smooth. Alternatively, mash them with a spoon or fork, though the texture may be less refined.
- Cook the mung bean paste.
Pour the blended mung bean mixture into a non-stick pan. Add milk powder and corn oil. Stir constantly over low heat until the mixture thickens and comes together into a soft dough-like ball that no longer sticks to the pan. If you prefer a sweeter taste, you can mix in a bit of sugar at this stage.
- Shape the bean paste.
Let it cool slightly, then divide it into small portions of about 25g each. Roll into balls and press into molds to create your desired shapes.
